ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Rogers State baseball (1-1) fell 10-3 to Ouachita Baptist (2-1) in the Dugan Invitational on Sunday.

After both pitching staffs threw two scoreless frames to open the game, the Tigers broke the seal in the bottom of the third with three runs. With back-to-back singles to start the inning, a double down the left field line scored the first two runs. Another double to left center plated the other run.

OBU tacked on another run in the bottom of the fourth to go up 4-0. The run came in on a bases loaded walk.

The Hillcats finally got on the board in the top of the sixth with three runs to cut the deficit to 4-3.
Marco Barrera singled up the middle to put a runner on with one out.
Gavin Mestas moved him over to third with a double. On a 0-2 count,
Jesse Holguin singled to deep right field to plate both Barrera and Mestas.
Joel Escalante later brought in Holguin with his own single to right.

Unfortunately, the Tigers answered back with four runs in the bottom half of the inning to push back out to 8-4. A two-run blast over the left field wall on a 1-0 count scored the first two runs of the frame. An RBI single through the right side of the infield and a ball grounded to shortstop brought in the final two runs.

OBU added two final runs in the bottom of the eighth to claim the 10-3 win. Both runs came in on a two RBI single to left center.

Hayden Childers (1-0) earned the win throwing 5.1 innings.
Nate Wohlgemuth (0-1) took the loss while striking out seven in 4.0 innings of work.

The Hillcats will close out the Dugan Invitational tomorrow as the face off against No. 2 Southern Arkansas at Majestic Park in Hot Springs, Ark. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
