CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State baseball (11-5, 1-4 MIAA) fell 5-1 in the second game of the series to No. 10 Central Oklahoma (14-2, 5-0 MIAA) on Sunday.

The Bronchos got on the board first as they led off the game with a triple to right center. The run scored on a groundout to the second baseman.

The Hillcats responded in the home half of the first to tie things at 1-1.
Gavin Mestas started the frame with a leadoff double to left.
Joel Escalante moved him to third with a sacrifice bunt. Mestas scored on a
Prescott Horn groundout to the shortstop.

After that, both starters settled in and refused to allow a run over the next two innings, scattering two total hits.

UCO retook the lead 4-1 in the fourth inning, pushing across three runs. The first run scored on a throwing error by the pitcher with the second run scoring on a RBI single through the left side of the infield. The final run came on a sacrifice bunt.

The Bronchos tacked on another run in the top of the sixth to extend their lead to 5-1. The run scored on a fielder's choice.

Christopher Spry (3-0) earned the win.
Giancarlo Cortez (1-2) took the loss.

The Hillcats will look to avoid the sweep in the series finale tomorrow. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
