KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Twenty-five student-athletes on the Rogers State men's and women's track and field teams were recognized for their work in the classroom with MIAA Outdoor Track and Field honors, the league announced on Wednesday.
On the women's team,
Gloria Butts earned the MIAA Academic Excellence Award, with Blaine and
Blake Phillippi taking home the award on the men's team. MIAA Academic Excellence Award recipients must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 4.00 or better at the certifying member institution. The honoree also must have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
In total, 12 men student-athletes and 13 women student-athletes were named to the Academic Honor Roll. To be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll, one must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. The individual must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
