TULSA, Okla. – Rogers State women's cross country won the RSU Invitational to open the 2023 season on Thursday, while the men finish second.

In the women's three-mile race, the Hillcats cruised to victory with all top five runners finishing in the top seven and earning 22 team points, 36 points ahead of the team in second place.
Gloria Butts paced the squad in second place with a time of 17:02.8.
Katie Byrd and
Brianna DeAngelis-Stinnett finished close behind in third and fourth with times of 17:22.6 and 17:35.1, respectively.
Riley Coleman finished sixth with a time of 17:40.8.
Ashley Riggenbach rounded out the scoring in seventh with a time of 17:42.6.

In the men's four-mile race, the Hillcats took second place after narrowly finishing behind Oklahoma Baptist with 45 points compared to 40 points.
Julius Oheim led RSU in fourth place with a time of 20:01.2.
Cade McCall finished seventh with a time of 20:14.5.
Kyle Woodward finished ninth with a time of 20:18.3.
Carlos Vallejo finished 12th with a time of 20:21.2.
Blake Feron rounded out the scoring in 13th with a time of 20:23.8.

The Hillcats will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 15 as they travel to Joplin, Mo. to compete in the annual Southern Stampede, hosted by Missouri Southern.
