CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State women's soccer (3-2-2) fell to Central Oklahoma (3-2-2) in a 3-0 game on Friday to wrap up the non-conference portion of the schedule.

Tiffany Brittan (2-2) made a career-high nine saves while allowing three goals.

Both teams tried to make offensive moves early in the game with the two sides testing both keepers with four total shots on goal in the first 17 minutes. In a tightly contested first period, the Bronchos outshot the Hillcats 8-5 with the difference coming in the six shots on target compared to two. In the 37th minute, UCO broke the stalemate as Claire Mullen launched a high-arching cross towards the goal that kept drifting and eventually fell inside the net for the first goal of the game.

In the second half, the Bronchos began to take over as they managed to outshoot RSU 8-2 in the period, with four shots on goal compared to none. UCO extended their lead in the 58th minute with a shot to go up 2-0. They closed out the scoring in the 81st minute with a goal to seal the 3-0 decision. While the Hillcats had opportunities in the first half, they were unable to find any momentum in the final 45 minutes to get anything going on offense.

RSU will need a short memory as they return to action on Sunday, Sept. 24 when they host Newman in the first match of MIAA play. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
