COLUMBIA, Mo. – Rogers State men's and women's cross country competed at the Gans Creek Classic on Friday.

In the women's 6k race, the Hillcats finished as the top Division II team and second overall with 73 points and an average time of 23:06.3. They only finished behind Washington University, who is currently ranked No. 7 nationally in Division III, and finished ahead of three MIAA schools including Northwest Missouri, Emporia State and Lincoln.

Gloria Butts led the way for RSU finishing in third with a time of 22:24.2.
Katie Byrd finished close behind in fourth with a time of 22:29.7.
Brianna DeAngelis-Stinnett finished in 19th with a time of 23:12.0.
Tori Wood finished in 28th with a time of 23:41.3.
Ashley Riggenbach finished in 30th with a time of 23:44.2.
Riley Coleman finished right behind in 31st with a time of 23:52.7.
Cadence Cordova rounded out the scoring in 35th with a time of 24:01.1.

In the men's 8k race, the Hillcats finished in ninth with 225 points and an average time of 27:12.2.

Julius Oheim led the group finishing in 40th with a time of 26:49.3.
Kyle Woodward finished in 47th with a time of 27:03.1.
Jackson Stinnett finished in 59th with a time of 27:19.8.
Blaine Phillippi finished in 62nd with a new personal best time of 27:23.2.
Casey Little finished in 66th with a time of 27:25.7.
Cade McCall finished in 79th with a time of 27:47.9.
Carlos Vallejo finished in 82nd with a time of 27:53.7.

The Hillcats will now turn their attention to and train for the MIAA Championships on Friday, Oct. 20 as they return to Columbia, Mo. to race again at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
