PITTSBURG, Kan. – Rogers State track and field began the 2025-26 indoor season this evening at the Crimson and Gold Invitational, featuring the 5,000-meter races at the Harvey Dean Track inside the Robert W. Plaster Center.
On the women's side,
Brooklyn Garafola clocked a time of 17:28.8, securing a fifth-place finish overall and in heat one.
Amy Morefield followed with a time of 18:01.15, placing 16th overall and 14
th in heat one, while
Brooke Martin finished shortly after at 18:21.69, earning the 18th position and third in heat two.
Mariah Belmont from Division I Kansas City won the race with a time of 17:17.29. She was followed by Ella Pando of Midwestern State and Bre Bell of Mississippi College.
Cohen McIntosh led the men's team, clocking an impressive 15:23.12 in his first indoor competition, securing 18th place overall and winning the second heat. Close behind was
Jack Morgan, who finished with a time of 15:39.44, placing 21st overall and second in heat two.
Lee Davis achieved a personal best of 15:40.10, finishing 22nd and third in heat two.
Tanner Jenks completed the race in 15:40.76, finishing 23rd overall and fourth in heat two.
Cooper Palmer from Mississippi College won the 5000-meter with a time of 14:52.35. He was closely followed by Kalieb Redda of Columbia (Mo.) and Diego Moran of Our Lady of the Lake.
The Hillcats will return to action tomorrow in Pittsburg, beginning with the men's mile at 1:10 p.m.
