HAYS, Kan. -Â No. 16 Rogers State softball (36-12) took care of business in a 6-1 win over Washburn in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Tournament on Thursday.
After two scoreless frames to start, the Ichabods got on the board first in the third inning with a 1-0 lead thanks to a leadoff triple and a RBI groundout to short.
The Hillcats responded in the bottom of the fourth as Bridgett Morales laced a one-out double to right center. After battling for eight pitches, Savannah Evans blasted a two-run homer over the right field wall to put RSU in front 2-1.
