ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – RSU Women's Soccer (0-1-2) battled to a 1-1 draw on the road against Ouachita Baptist (1-1-1) on Thursday afternoon at Kluck Field.
There was no shortage of offense in the match, as the two teams combined for 28 shots, with the Tigers holding a slight 15-13 advantage. Additionally, there were 11 corner kicks, with RSU edging the category 6-5.
The first half was evenly matched, with both teams taking seven shots, but the score remained 0-0 at halftime. Sophomore
Khari Carreno led the team with two shots in the opening 45 minutes and finished the match with a team-high four shots, one on goal.
The Tigers struck first with a goal from Reese Brown, assisted by Ava Dunagan and Isabella Savattere, from 15 yards out to take a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute. However, the Hillcats responded in the 82nd minute, when freshman Raegen Bailey scored her first career goal off a corner from
Brooke Hartshorn. The score remained tied for the final eight minutes of play.
Junior Calasis Butts (0-1-2) made recorded saves during the match. She and junior
Anna Hibbard both played the full 90 minutes.
RSU will return home on Saturday to face Harding (0-1-1) at 1:00 p.m.
