Cade McCall's record-breaking performance highlighted the opening night of the 2026 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at the Pitt State Outdoor Track Facility.
Senior
Phillip Owens opened the meet for the Hillcats in the 400-meter dash prelims, finishing 14th with a time of 49.03 seconds.
In the final race of the night, McCall and sophomore
Lee Davis delivered impressive performances in the 10,000-meter run, both securing top-10 finishes. McCall finished seventh with a time of 30:38.12, breaking his own school record set last year at the MIAA championships. Davis achieved a massive personal-best time of 32:04.48, finishing in 10th place.
The Hillcats will continue competition at the MIAA Outdoor Championships tomorrow, starting with the men's 800-meter prelims at 5:30 p.m.
