KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) unveiled its 2026 Men's Cross Country Preseason Coaches' Poll, and Rogers State was selected to finish seventh.
 
RSU earned a total of 60 points, finishing ahead of Missouri Western (54 points), Central Missouri (45 points), Emporia State (40 points), Newman (19 points) and Arkansas-Fort Smith (15 points). The Hillcats finished eighth at the MIAA Championship last year in Pittsburg, Kansas.
 
Pittsburg State was picked to win the conference with 11 points and five first-place votes, followed by Washburn with 108 points (three first-place votes). Nebraska-Kearney and Missouri Southern tied for third in the poll with 90 points.
 
Rogers State will kick off the season by hosting the RSU Distance After Dark, presented by Armstrong Bank, race in Tulsa on Thursday, September 3, at the Mohawk Sports Complex. Race time is scheduled to begin at 10:30 p.m.
