RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The GAC/MIAA announced its Week 2 Men's Soccer Players of the Week, and senior Alex Laing was named Defensive Player of the Week for the first time this season. He joins Alex Fletcher and Tristan Miller as the third Hillcat to earn player of the week recognition.
 
Laing was a key contributor for the Hillcats during their 1-0-1 week on the road. The defender from London, England, recorded five points, scoring two goals and adding an assist in the win over Rockhurst. He logged 157 minutes on the pitch, and both of his shots were on goal.
 
This marks the third time Laing has been named Defensive Player of the Week. His first recognition came on Nov. 12, 2024, followed by his second award last season on Sept. 16, 2025, when he was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Rogers State Men's Soccer will return to action tomorrow at home against Oklahoma Christian at 7 p.m.
