The baseball and softball playing surfaces inside the Diamond Sports Complex, located on the northwest corner of RSU's Claremore campus, were originally built in the spring of 2004. Currently, both playing surfaces are natural grass. The conversion to turf playing surfaces would allow the teams to practice year-round and ensure game day can happen despite wet weather conditions. Turf playing surfaces for both teams also gives the Hillcats the ability to host postseason competition. Soldier Field, home of RSU Soccer, is located in the heart of the RSU campus. The facility was originally constructed as a venue for the Oklahoma Military Academy's football games. The field has been widened and the installation of artificial turf at Soldier Field was completed in May 2012. The artificial turf surface allows RSU to maximize the availability and functionality of historic Soldier Field. The durability of artificial turf permits the university to utilize Soldier Field for athletic training and competition, intramural sports, and other student activities and community events. The surface is due for a refresh, allowing RSU athletics along with the University to showcase events right in the middle of campus.
