Biography

About: Taylor is back at RSU for his sophomore season in 2015 following a freshman campaign where he raced in all six meets for the navy and red. The Oklahoma City, Oklahoma native turned in his best time of the 2014 season at the OBU Invitational covering the 8k course in 28:40.59 while his 15th-place result at the Midwestern State Carnival was his best finish of the year. He joined the Hillcats from Westmoore High School where he ran varsity cross country for four years while earning three track and field letters as well as two soccer letters. Taylor helped the Jaguars' 4x800 relay to a state runner-up finish as a senior turning in the fastest opening leg at the state meet at 1:59. His relay team claimed conference and regional championships in 2014 before reaching the state meet. He earned the Best Senior Award from the track and field team along with the Difference Maker Award from the cross country team. Born Jimmy Lee Taylor III to Jimmy and Dena Taylor, he said he chose RSU because "I loved the coach and the campus."
