Steve Scott is in his first season as an assistant coach in 2022 and will assist with the pitchers and game management strategies, along with recruiting.
Scott’s ties to softball run deep in the city of Claremore. In 1994, as an assistant coach for Claremore High School, he helped lead the Lady Zebras to their first-ever fastpitch state title. His daughter, current Rogers State head softball coach Andrea Vaughan, pitched a shutout in the championship game. Scott taught his daughter how to pitch and was a pitcher himself for various men's fastpitch teams in the Indian Fastpitch League.
In addition to coaching travel teams in the 90s, he helped Claremore High School repeat as state champions in 1995 before retiring from coaching.
