OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Sophomore Aldric Reynolds scored 21 points and lifted Rogers State to its first conference win as the Hillcats outlasted Mid-America Christian, 70-62 at the Gaulke Center in Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Reynolds connected on 5-of-8 3-pointers against the Evangels zone defense. Abram Donlon came off the bench to score 14 points as the RSU bench outscored MACU 25-to-8. Joe Brown kept the Evangels close with 17 second-half points. He finished with 24 points and hit 5-of-9 shots from behind the arc.

MACU trailed by just three points with two minutes left in the contest. Roderick Rodgers hit one-of-two free throws and then knocked down a 15-foot jumper to stretch the lead to six with 45 seconds remaining. The Evangels turned the ball over on their ensuing possession and Reynolds finished with a layup on the other end of the floor to seal the victory, 70-62

Reynolds and Donlon were the only two Hillcats to finish in double figures. RSU shot 45-percent from the field and made 10-of-24 3-point attempts. Clint Nixon posted 12 points for the Evangels while Donald Thorne added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Rogers State (6-1) improved to 1-0 in conference play and will host pre-season No. 1 and defending national champion Oklahoma City on Saturday at the Claremore Expo. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. and the will be carried live on RSU Radio 91.3 FM and RSU Public Television.
