MUSKOGEE, Okla. - The Rogers State women's soccer team earned its second victory of the season with a 3-2 win over the University of Texas - Brownsville in Muskogee on Saturday morning.
Robin Sutherland gave the Hillcats an early lead on an assist from Vanessa Oxford in the first half. The goal was the second for Sutherland in as many games and gave RSU a 1-0 lead at halftime. In the second half Carrie Ritz scored on an assist from Kacie Hohenberger and Oxford scored what proved to be the game winner as the Hillcats edged the Scorpions 3-2.
Derek Lakin's women's team improved to 2-0-0 on the season and will return home to open conference play next week. RSU will host Oklahoma Christian on Tuesday at Soldier Field. Game time is slated for 6 p.m.
