Hillcat Men Throttle Threshers, 8-0

CLAREMORE, Okla. - Rogers State produced its best offensive performance to date with an 8-0 thrashing of Bethel College at Soldier Field in Claremore, Okla., Sunday.
 

The Hillcats set new program records for goals and margin of victory against the Threshers. RSU held its opponent scoreless for the third consecutive match as goalkeeper Sean Surridge picked up his first shutout of the season with two saves.
 

Shemord Thompson, Bryce Taylors and Henrique Sousa scored two goals each. Junior Luke Helm and freshman Victor Brown added second half goals to reach the final margin, 8-0. The Hillcats took control early on, scoring three goals in the first 11 minutes of the match. Thompson notched the first goal four minutes in. Taylor and Sousa followed with two strikes apiece before the half. Taylor followed up Wednesday's hat trick performance with two goals Sunday, giving him five tallies in his last two games.
 

Rogers State (5-1) extended its winning streak to three games and will hit the road Wednesday to face Ottawa University (Ottawa, Kan.). The match is scheduled for 6 p.m.
