Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Hillcats Outlast Ottawa, 2-0

OTTAWA, Kan. -  The Rogers State men's soccer team extended its winning streak to four games with a 2-0 road win over Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kan. Wednesday.
 

Freshmen Ryan Coffman and Henrique Sousa scored goals for the Hillcats. Sean Surridge recorded nine saves to give RSU its third consecutive shutout. Coffman gave the Cats a 1-0 advantage with the first score from Victor Brown with five minutes to play in the first half. Sousa found the back of the net at the 62:17 mark on a beautiful cross from Shemord Thompson.
 

The Hillcats were outshot 20-17 but managed to make the most of their eight shots on goal. RSU shutout its opponent for the fifth time in seven matches this season. Surridge and freshman goalie Tou Yang have combined to allow just four goals.
 

Rogers State (6-1) returns home Saturday to host Friends University at Soldier Field. The men's match is set for 4 p.m. on the RSU campus in Claremore, Okla.
