Hillcat Women Smash Saints, 4-0

CLAREMORE, Okla. - Rogers State benefited from another great individual performance as the Hillcats cruised past Our Lady of the Lake University 4-0 Wednesday afternoon at Soldier Field in Claremore, Okla.

Broken Arrow product Summer White recorded three goals, becoming the second freshman in as many games to score at least three goals for RSU. Fellow Broken Arrow native Emily Givan tallied four goals in Saturday's win at Bacone College.

White put the Cats on top at the 8:32 mark when she bent a corner kick into the back of the net. She made it 2-0 early in the second half when she lobbed a shot over goalie Christi Oswalt's head from 40 yards out.

Givan got in on the scoring act with a header off a White corner kick in the 86th minute.  White added the final blow when she converted a corner kick in the 88th minute to make it 4-0. The two freshmen have combined for eight goals and three assists through the first two games.

Jessica McCutcheon picked up her first shutout with five saves between the posts for RSU. The Hillcats posted 11 shots-on-goal and outshot the Saints 19 to 11.

Rogers State (2-0) returns to the road Saturday to face Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan. The match is slated to start at 2 p.m.
