CLAREMORE, Okla. - Rogers State pulled out an important conference win with two late goals to edge Oklahoma Christian, 2-1 Friday night at Soldier Field in Claremore.
Â
The Hillcats trailed 1-0 until freshman Brittney McDonald tied the match with a rebound goal in the 65th minute. McDonald then setup the winning goal with a perfect lead pass to Kimmia Parker. Parker outraced an OC defender to the ball and beat the goalie one-on-one to net the game-winner with 5:05 remaining.

RSU came out on top despite being forced to play on its heels for much of the match. OC outshot the Hillcats, 25-12 and posted 14 shots on goal. RSU goalie Bailey Lynn set a team record with 13 saves in a gutsy performance. Hope Heinen's deep strike in the 40th minute was the only hiccup in an otherwise stellar performance by the junior keeper.

Rogers State (11-4, 4-3) held on to sixth place in the Sooner Athletic Conference with the victory. The Hillcats will travel to Oklahoma City Tuesday to face Mid-America Christian. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m.
