RSU Women Wallop Lady Warriors, 18-0

CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State women's soccer team opened the 2009 season with a bang Monday night, shattering a number of records en route to an 18-0 victory over Bacone College at Soldier Field in Claremore.

The Hillcats posted nine goals in each half to set a school record for goals in a single game. Junior Kimmia Parker led the scoring assault with six goals, including five in a span of 14 minutes in the second half. Sophomore Emily Givan tallied five goals while sophomore Lauren Hager added three. Freshman Sarah Williamson found the back of the net twice and junior transfer Casey Freeman rounded out the scoring with the final goal in the 82nd minute.

"We had a lot of different girls producing tonight and it was just a fantastic night all the way around for them," Coach Derek Larkin said.

Parker tied a team record for goals in a single-game and set a new mark for total points with 14. A native of Jamaica, Parker was a first-team All-American in 2008 for Lindsey Wilson College. Givan picked up right where she left off as a freshman last season when she scored 12 goals despite missing half the season due to injury. Hager and Williamson combined for 14 total points in their first game for the Hillcats.

Rogers State (1-0) won its season opener for the third consecutive season. The Hillcats will take 10 days off before hosting Our Lady of the Lake Sept. 11, at Soldier Field in Claremore.
