ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- The Rogers State men's soccer team registered its first win of the season on the road Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over Ouachita Baptist.

The Hillcats came ready to play, controlling the pace of the game right from the start. RSU wowed the crowed and took a two-goal lead in the first stanza with a pair of goals that Tiger goalkeeper David Henley had no chance to save.

Sophomore Kaspars Kokis scored RSU's first goal of the season in the 32nd minute of the game as he weaved his way past a defender on the left side of the field and blasted the ball upper 90 backside to give the Cats a 1-0 lead.

Niall Masterson doubled the Hillcat lead in the 36th minute. Walter Hubbard dished the ball to Masterson at the top of the box and he volleyed it past the keeper.

RSU continued to dominate in the second stanza, tallying nine of their 20 shots in the half. The Hillcats couldn't add to their lead and the Tigers made things interesting in the final 10 minutes of play. OBU's Taylor Heinsohn intercepted a miss-cleared ball from the RSU defense and launched it into the net, just under the cross bar. However, the Hillcats held onto their one-goal lead for the win and freshman Joey Arnold garnered his first win in goal for the Hillcats.

Rogers State (1-1) returns to action on Tuesday as the Cats travel to Siloam Springs, Ark. to take on John Brown at 4 p.m.
