Hillcat Men Feast on Bacone, 8-0

CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State men's soccer team returned to its winning ways in a big way on Tuesday night as the Hillcats blasted Bacone, 8-0, at Soldier Field.

Necas Collins put the Hillcats on the board 29 seconds into the game as Danko Kenjic threaded the ball through the defense to a wide open Collins who netted the goal from the top of the box.

Niall Masterson doubled the RSU lead in the 17th minute of the game as he beat the defender and buried the ball back post.

The Hillcats took the 2-0 advantage into the locker room at the half but didn't settle, pouring on the offense in the second stanza. Collins slotted the ball across the face of the goal to Walter Hubbard who finished back post.

RSU tallied three goals in a five minute span to make it a 6-0 game. Garron Hayes' persistence paid off in the 73 minute as his initial shot hit the post but he followed it up and snuck the ball past the keeper near post.  In the 74th minute Caleb Pitts scored his second goal in five days as he headed the ball past the keeper off a Mathew Levenson corner kick. Dylan Beaird scored his second career goal off a pass from Austin Sexton in the 75th minute.

Chris Perez and Levenson rounded out the scoring for RSU. The Hillcats outshot the Warriors 34-1 and eight different players found the back of the net.

Rogers State (2-4) will return to action on October 5 as the Hillcats head to Laredo, Texas to take on Texas A&M International in their first conference game of the season.
