CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 defeat to John Brown on Tuesday evening at Soldier Field.
 
The Hillcats had several scoring opportunities in the first frame with their best chance coming with nine minutes to play as Lexi Ellingsen collected a throw in from Macy Travis and dribbled into the box, ripping the ball right into the goalkeepers hands. RSU registered three shots on frame in the stanza while the Golden Eagles managed two but neither team could find the back of the net, ending the frame in a scoreless tie.
 
Despite putting four shots on frame after intermission and finishing the game with 13 shots, the Hillcats were unable to capitalize on their chances while JBU made the most of their opportunities to earn the victory. Casey O'Brien tallied the game-winner in the 57th minute as Sara Fry slotted the ball through the defense to O'Brien who drew the goalkeeper off the line and beat her near post.
 
The Golden Eagles doubled their lead with a goal from Julie Whitlow on a shot tucked just under the crossbar from 45 yards out and sealed the win with a goal off a corner kick by Samantha Weber, burying the ball near post during a scramble in the box.
 
Teri Cocke was tagged with the loss, making four saves for RSU in goal while Kristen Morency earned the clean sheet and the win for JBU with seven saves on the night.
