CLAREMORE, Okla. – The Rogers State men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 double overtime loss to No. 8 St. Edward's on Saturday afternoon at Soldier Field.
The Hilltoppers scored the game-winning goal with less than three minutes to play in the second overtime period as Owain Hoskins scored his first goal of the season off a throw in that snuck through the defense and landed at his feet six yards from goal. The sophomore from Fareham, U.K. buried the ball in the net first-time to secure the victory and push the SEU winning streak to five games.

Cody Gammill put together a standout performance in between the posts, making 11 saves in the match.
Niall Masterson gave the Hillcats their first shot on goal in the 68
th minute, firing a shot towards the lower left corner, but Kevin Leib came up with the diving save to keep the game scoreless.
Danko Kenjic registered the Hillcats' scoring chance in overtime with a left-footed shot curled towards the back post but saved by the goalkeeper five minutes into extra time.
The Hilltoppers got the best opportunity of the first overtime period with Josh Taylor firing a shot from 15 yards out, but once again, Gammill came up big with the save, extending the contest.
In the final overtime period,
Timothy Nuckols put a header on frame with four minutes to play, but SEU backup goalkeeper William Tuffin kept RSU from the upset victory.
The organized play of the Hilltoppers held the Hillcats to just five shots in the game with three on frame.
Rogers State (5-4-1, 0-2 HC) will return to action Thursday traveling to Lubbock Christian for a conference match slated for 2 p.m.
