ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Senior
Danko Kenjic recorded a pair of goals to lead the Rogers State men's soccer team to a dominating, 4-0, win over Ouachita Baptist in its first road game of the season on Friday afternoon at Kluck Field.
Timothy Nuckols headed the ball past the keeper in the fourth minute of play to put the Hillcats on top early. It was the senior's first goal of the season.
RSU doubled its lead in the 29th minute as
Danko Kenjic converted a penalty kick, giving RSU a 2-0 lead at intermission.
Kenjic made it a 3-0 game in the 51st minute, burying a free kick in the back of the net from 35 yards out. The Zemun, Serbia native, dished an assist to
Mitchell Sowerby who headed the ball past the keeper in the 66th minute to round out the scoring.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Cody Gammill made five saves in the shutout victory for the Hillcats. Nelson Pacheco was tagged with the loss for the Tigers, making eight saves while allowing four goals.
Rogers State (2-1) returns to the pitch Sunday as the Hillcats face Harding (Ark.) at Soldier Field. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. and RSU will be honoring Owasso TopSoccer and all area Boy Scouts. The game will be streamed live on the Hillcat Network at
