After falling behind 3-0 early in game one, the Hillcats rallied to take game one, 6-5.

The Cougars went up, 2-0, in the first inning on a two-RBI single to the gap in left to plate the first two runs of the game. CCU increased the margin to 3-0 with a double down the line in the second inning.

In the bottom of the second, RSU loaded the bases with a walk and back-to-back singles. Brooks Douglas was hit by a pitch, bringing in Ismael Orozco for a 3-1 score. Matt Seubert worked a walk to score the second RSU run as Garrett Hall scored to make it 3-2.

A wild pitch in the third inning scored Chris Miguel from third to tie the score at 3-3. The navy and red took the lead, 4-3, on a Hall RBI single up the middle to plate Jason Marley.

Miguel produced in the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly to right to score Douglas for a 5-3 score. The final RSU run scored in the sixth inning on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded.

CCU totaled its final two runs on a single in the fifth inning and a solo home run in the seventh for the final 6-5 margin.

Spencer Bivens started for the Cats, going 4.1 innings and getting the win, his second of the season. Justin Magstadt pitched the final inning, picking up the save.

The finale of the three-game series was a pitching duel as the Cougars pulled out a 2-1 victory.

CCU's Evan Fink went 6.0 innings and allowed only four hits to the Hillcats and one run. The relievers of Jarrod Rivera and Scotty Wright didn't allow a hit in 3.0 innings combined to lift the Cougars to the win.

Devland Zakar pitched 6.0 strong innings for RSU, allowing two runs on seven hits. He totaled two strikeouts.

After a scoreless first three innings, CCU went in front, 1-0, in the fourth with an RBI single to left center.

The Cats knotted the score at 1-1 in their half of the fourth inning as Sam Davison knocked in Orozco with a double to right.

CCU scored what would be the game-winning run in the sixth inning on an RBI single to left.

RSU put runners in scoring position late to have a chance to tie. Hall worked a leadoff walk and moved over to third base due to two passed balls, but a strikeout and groundout stranded him at third. In the ninth inning, Cale Backward reached second with two outs, but the Cougars secured the final out to get the win.

Davison finished 2-for-4 with one RBI.
