Peacock's Career-High Performance Lifts Hillcats to Victory

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Sophomore forward Brewster Peacock went for a career-high 25 points and 10 rebounds to lift the Rogers State men's basketball team to a 78-65 victory over Randall on Friday (Dec. 14) on Claremont Elementary School Day at the Claremore Expo Center.

The Hillcats (7-3) pulled away in the final five minutes and used 45 bench points to earn the victory.

RSU led by only one point at 62-61 with 5:02 remaining in the game after two free throws from Randall's Antonio Wilson. The Cats, however, ended the contest with a 16-4 run to pull away for the 78-65 victory with most of the points coming from Peacock.

Chase Littlejohn started the spurt with a 3-pointer with 4:19 left for a 65-61 score. Free throws from Peacock and Saint Hilaire extended the margin to 69-61 at the 3:20 mark.

After a 3-pointer from RU's Kashus Lyons, Peacock pushed the lead back out to eight with a three-point play. He then scored the final six points of the game to put the game out of reach for the Saints. The sophomore tallied 11 of the final 13 points for the navy and red.

For the game, Peacock tallied 25 points and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double. The 25 points bested his previous high of 20 points scored against Bacone College on Nov. 27, 2017. His 10 rebounds were one better than his prior high of nine against Emporia State on Dec. 2, 2017. The sophomore shot 9-of-13 from the field in the game and hit four 3-pointers.

Tate Turner added 13 points. Latrell Tidwell pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.

RSU shot 43.3 percent (26-60) from the floor. Randall finished at 39 percent (23-59).

The Saints were paced by Wilson with 17 points. Lyons (15 points) and Brandon Askew (12 points) also hit double figures in scoring for RU.

The Hillcats travel to Fort Smith, Arkansas on Tuesday and Wednesday for two holiday classic games at UA Fort Smith. RSU starts the trip with Parkside on Tuesday (Dec. 18) at 5 p.m. at the Stubblefield Center. The Cats take on Cameron on Wednesday (Dec. 19) at 3 p.m.
