Peacock Banks in Game Winner for 82-80 Victory at OBU

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Sophomore forward Brewster Peacock banked in a put-back basket with 0.2 seconds left to lift the Rogers State men's basketball team to a 82-80 win at Oklahoma Baptist on Monday (Dec. 31) at the Noble Complex for the fifth straight victory for the navy and red.
 
The Hillcats moved to 11-3 on the season and earned their first road win of the season. RSU has won five straight and nine of its last 10 games.
 
Peacock gave the Cats the 82-80 victory as he collected a rebound off a missed 3-pointer from Tate Turner from the top of the key and put in a bank shot from the left block with only 0.2 seconds remaining.
 
The Bison (4-6) couldn't get a shot off with 0.2 left as the Cats earned the victory.
 
Four Hillcats posted double figures in scoring in the win. Tavian Davis and Tate Turner tallied a team-high 16 points apiece. Peacock registered 15 points, hitting three 3-pointers, and Chase Littlejohn added 11 points with three made 3-pointers off the bench.
 
RSU shot 49.2 percent (31-63) from the field and 35 percent (7-20) from 3. The Hillcat offense committed a season-low four turnovers and tallied 12 assists.
 
Brantly Thompson of OBU went for a game-high 22 points. Antonio Wade added 21 points. Dishon Lowery pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
 
For the game, the Bison finished at 52.6 percent (30-57) from the floor, including 64.3 percent (18-28) in the second half. OBU hit 13 3-pointers and shot 44.8 percent (13-29) from deep.
 
The Hillcats return home for two straight games starting with Ecclesia on Monday, Jan. 7 at p.m. in the final nonconference contest of the season. Coverage will be available on the Hillcat Network and on 91.3 FM.
