CLAREMORE, Okla. – The Rogers State men's soccer team made it back-to-back 4-0 victories with a 4-0 win over Dallas Baptist University on Saturday (Sept. 29) at Soldier Field.
Jaxon Pitt totaled a brace, scoring the first two goals of the contest.
The Hillcats (6-4, 4-2 Heartland Conference) started home league play at 2-0 with two-straight 4-0 wins after defeating St. Edward's 4-0 on Thursday at Soldier Field.
Pitt tallied the game-winning goal in the 24th minute as his deflected shot went over the top of the DBU goalkeeper for a 1-0 advantage.
Abe Young had the assist on the goal.
Pitt added his second goal in the first half in the 35th minute. The sophomore turned and fired a shot in the box to the right corner of the goal.
Cairo Allen picked up the assist on the tally.
The Hillcats added two goals two minutes apart in the second half.
Chris Sowder tapped in a cross sent in by Allen for a 3-0 score in the 63rd minute. The final RSU goal came in the 65th minute when Allen put in a shot in front after a cross by
Kevin Kwarteng.
Jazz Dhaliwal made his second straight start in goal and posted his second shutout win, moving to 2-0. He made one save, a diving stop, to keep the shutout.
For the game, RSU held a 19-8 advantage in shots, including a 10-1 margin in shots on target. In the first half, the navy and red posted a 12-6 edge in shots. Pitt and Allen registered a team-high three shots.
