CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State Women's Basketball team fell to Oklahoma Baptist University, 82-52, Saturday at the Claremore Expo Center.
The Hillcats led early in the game but fell behind on a late run from the Bison to end the first quarter and went into the half trailing 38-26 after shooting just 25 percent in the second quarter.
Oklahoma Baptist then pulled away with a 9-0 run to start the second half and Rogers State was unable to recover.
The Hillcats shot 32 percent from the field for the game and 37 percent (6-of-16) from the three-point range.
Rogers State had three players who scored in the double digits. Sophomore
Vanessa Gajdosova, junior Lily Garner, and senior
Alicia Brown all had 10 points in the game. Garner was 3-5 from three-point range.
Junior
Katrina Christian had 6 rebounds, which led the team for the game. She also had eight points.
Senior
Darian Jackson had five rebounds and finished with six points.
Freshman
Bailey Kliewer had five blocks in the game, which was tied for the 12th best blocking performance for a Hillcat in a game. Kliewer was 2-for-2 from the free-throw line for her only points.
The Hillcats will be in action again Wednesday at the Claremore Expo Center, facing off against Southwest Baptist. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. against the Bearcats.
