NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Region honorees for the 2019 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field season on Tuesday, with Seniors
Alfred Thomas and
D'Jiron Lilley being recognized.
Thomas, who was announced as a qualifier for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships earlier in the day, received his All-Region honor for his performances in the 200-meter Dash.
Thomas ran a 21.52 to finish fourth at the 4th Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kansas and is coming off of the Great American Conference Championship in the 200-meter Dash with a 21.66 in Norman, Oklahoma. The converted time for the track sets an NCAA DII Provisional time of 21.28, which is sixth best in the NCAA.
Lilley ran an NCAA Provisional time in the 60-meter Dash at the Pittsburg State Invitational, finishing with a time of 6.85. Lilley's time is third best in the South Central Region of Division II.
To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-5 individuals in their event in their respective region. In addition, each member of a region's top-3 relay teams was also selected for the distinction. The eight regions used in NCAA DII are the Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West.
