WICHITA, Kan. – The Roger State Men's Basketball team fell on the road to Newman University 75-64 Thursday night at the Fugate Gymnasium.
The Hillcats fell behind early to the hosts, going down by as much as 12 points in the first half.
Rogers State responded, cutting the deficit to three at the half before eventually taking 44-43 lead with 12:44 to go.
After the teams traded the lead, the hosts went back in front for good with a three pointer to go up 50-48 with 9:52 to go. The Jets would continue to grow their lead to as much as 11 at the end of the game.
Saint Hilarie led the Hillcats in scoring, finishing with 14 points. Hilaire also had a pair of rebounds and assists with a steal.
Brewster Peacock and
Chase Littlejohn joined Hilaire in double figures, finishing with 12 and 11 points. Peacock had four rebounds.
Latrell Tidwell led the Hillcats in rebounds, finishing with six boards.
Rogers State will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, traveling to Oklahoma Christian. Tip off is set for 3 p.m. in Oklahoma City.
