WACO, Texas - Rogers State's Jess Whitting was named the Heartland Women's Golfer of the Week for tournaments played from Feb. 20 – Feb. 26.
 
Whitting led the Hillcats on both days of the tournament in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The Australian native managed to beat her day one score of a two-over-par 74 with a final day one-over-par 73.
 
Whitting finished third for the tournament, only two strokes behind the individual winner. The Hillcats finished 7th overall in the 21-team field.
 
This is Whitting's first golfer of the week award this season.
 
Whitting and the rest of the Hillcats will tee off next in the Fujikura Invitational at Shadow Ridge Country Club in Vista, California beginning on March 11.
