KINGSVILLE, Texas –
Alfred Thomas ran for the Rogers State Track & Field team at the NCAA Championships on Friday in the preliminary rounds of the 200-meter dash, qualifying for the finals.
Thomas had a strong showing in the 200-meter dash preliminaries, running the second fastest time of all qualifiers with a 20.82. Thomas finished .06 seconds behind Mobolade Ajomale in the third and final heat of qualifications.
His time was .42 seconds faster than the third fastest qualifying time, making him a favorite for the final Saturday night.
Thomas will run in the 200-meter dash final Saturday evening, which is scheduled for a 7:55 p.m. start. He will be in lane three.
