CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State Men's Basketball team suffered their first home defeat of the season on Thursday, falling to Nebraska-Kearney 62-58.

The game was back-and-forth contest until late in the first half when the Hillcats were table to take control and go into the half with a six-point lead over the Lopers.

With a little over seven minutes left in the game the Lopers erased the deficit and grabbed the lead from the Hillcats for the first time in the second half.

Nebraska-Kearney took the lead in the final 30 seconds after the two teams traded the lead back and forth for over five minutes. The Hillcats would miss a late free throw and were forced to foul before falling by four to the visitors.

Christopher Miller led the Hillcats in points with 16 for the game. Miller would also tally three rebounds.

Tavian Davis would be the second leading scorer for the Hillcats in the game, finishing with 10 points. Davis would also have four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Marques Sumner and
Gabriel Ferreira would tie for the team lead in rebounds with six each. Sumner would also have six assists and four points. Ferreira would score nine points.

The Hillcats will be back in action against Fort Hays State University on Saturday, January 11. Tip off is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Claremore Expo Center.
