CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State baseball team won both games in a doubleheader against Truman State on Sunday, winning the first game 7-0 and the second one 13-2, to complete the four-game sweep in the weekend series.

How it Happened (Game One): The Hillcats scored the first four runs of the game in the third inning.
Mason Harvey singled up the middle to score
Ethan Rivera from second to give the Hillcats the first run of the game. The single also moved
Christian Merriwether to third base, where he later scored on a wild pitch to give the Hillcats a 2-0 lead.

Nick Follet would then add another run with a RBI ground out to score Harvey. The Hillcats added the final run of the inning when
Brandon Bradshaw was able to score on an error.

It would be all the run support the Hillcats needed, as
Corey Murphy picked up his first win of the season with the complete game shutout.

The Hillcats would strike again in the fifth inning. The Hillcats would have
Jonathan Soto on third and
Kyle Simms on first as
Cameron Castaneda doubled to left center to both base runners.

The Hillcats would score their final run in the sixth inning with a double down the right-field line from Harvey to score Merriwether from first.

How it Happened (
Game Two): The Hillcats would waste no time scoring runs in their second game as Nick Follet hit a two-run home run in the first inning. The Hillcats would then load the bases and a passed ball would score Soto for a 3-0 lead for the Navy and Red after the first inning.

In the second, the Hillcats would score another three runs. The first came on a single from Harvey to score Rivera from third. Two wild pitches would allow Harvey to advance to third base and then he would score on a passed ball. Following -to-back walks that put runners on first and second, Soto would single to center to score
Brandon Bradshaw from second for a 6-0 lead after two innings.

The Hillcats would score one run in the fourth inning. With runners on the corners, Soto would break for second base, giving Bradshaw the window to steal home, as both runners advanced safely on the double steal.

Rogers State would score another four runs in the fifth inning. Rivera would reach base after a throwing error and would go on to steal second and third for the Hillcats to put a runner in scoring position. Merriwether then singled home Rivera.

After loading the bases, a single from Bradshaw scored Merriwether and Harvey. Follet then scored on a fielder's choice to give the Hillcats an 11-0 lead

Truman would finally score their first runs of the day in the top of the sixth inning after hitting a two-run home run to left field.

The Hillcats would respond by adding two runs in the sixth inning. Harvey doubled to right center to score Merriwether from first. Bradshaw then hit a single to score Harvey for the final run.

Key Performances: Murphy would pick up his first win of the season as he would pitch a shutout for the Hillcats with six strikeouts in the first game of the doubleheader.

In game two,
Drake Norton earned the victory, allowing just the two-run home run in six innings of work. He finished with five strikeouts.

Harvey would go 5-for-8 from the plate with two doubles, four RBIs, five runs, a walk, and a stolen base for the day.

Follet hit his second home run of the season. He would also have three RBIs and three runs scored.

Bradshaw was 3-for-6 from the plate and would also have three RBIs, two runs, two walks, and a stolen base.

Notes: Sunday's wins completed a four-game sweep of the Bulldogs for Rogers State. It is the Hillcats first four-game series sweep since February 2018 when the Hillcats swept Randall at the Diamond Sports Complex.
