Box Score KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Rogers State Men's Basketball team fell to Missouri Southern 76-70 in the semifinals of the MIAA Men's Basketball Tournament Saturday night.

How it Happened: The Hillcats fell behind early in the game with the Lions reaching a lead as large as five points.

However, a three pointer from
Tavian Davis shifted the momentum into the Hillcats' favor. The play started a 16-5 run and gave the Hillcats the lead.

The Hillcats capitalized on this run extending their lead to as large as 11 points with just over six minutes remaining in the half.

The Lions fought back and went on a 10-0 run of their own late in the half, but the Hillcats held them off to going into halftime with a 37-31 lead.

In the beginning of the second half, the Hillcats extended their lead again, this time to as much as nine points. However, the Lions remained persistent.

Over the course of eight and a half minutes, the Lions went on a 23-9 run and took the lead back from the Hillcats with the score being 56-51.

The Hillcats fought back to try and retake the lead from the Lions but were only able to get as close as three points for the rest of the game.

Players of Note: Davis led the team in scoring for the game, with 19 points. He also had seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

Jett Sternberger finished with 13 points. Sternberger also had a rebound and a block in the game.

Darraja Parnell had 11 points for the Hillcats. Parnell also tallied six rebounds and three assists.

Marques Sumner was the final Hillcat in double figures with 10 points. Sumner put up seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals as well.

Key Statistics: The Lions went to the free-throw line 37 times during the game and were able to make 28 of their shots from the line while the Hillcats went to line 16 times in the game and made 13 shots.

The Hillcats had three players foul out in the game.

The Hillcats were outrebound 48-33 in the game, with the Lions grabbing 14 offensive rebounds compared to the Hillcats eight offensive rebounds.

Notes: With Davis recording two steals in the game, he becomes Rogers State Men's Basketball's all-time leader in steals at 140.
