CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State Men's Golf team and head coach Steve Brown have announced the addition of Soulai Vang to the 2020-21 signee class.
 
Vang will join the Hillcats from nearby Oologah, Oklahoma and Oologah High School. Vang recently wrapped up his career with the Mustangs golf team where he was named Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State as a senior.
 
"I am very happy to have a local talent like Soulai Vang want to be on our team," said Brown. "Soulai has had a great career at Oolagah High School, where he won several tournaments, and I know he wants to work hard in college and be a great teammate."
 
Vang was a three-year varsity letter winner for the Mustangs, qualifying for the state tournament all three years. Twice Vang earned all-conference honors.
 
In his first year with the team as a sophomore, Vang helped the Mustangs to a conference championship in a season that also included multiple top-five finishes and victories.
 
As a junior, Vang won the Verdigris Valley Golf Conference Individual Medalist honors by three shots.
 
Despite his senior season being cut short, Vang was invited to play in the OCA All-State Golf Tournament, representing the East team.
  
"Due to the cancellation of his season, I wasn't able to go watch him play this spring, but early in the year I watched him on the range and he hits it pure," added Brown. "Soulai is definitely a player who can contribute to the team's success right from the start."
 
Vang is one of seven commits for the Hillcat golf team for the 2020-21 signee class.
