No. 25 RSU Draws With Fort Hays State

HAYS, Kan. – No. 25 Rogers State men's soccer (9-3-2, 5-2-1 GAC/MIAA) drew with Fort Hays State (8-4-2, 5-2-1 GAC/MIAA) in a 0-0 decision on Thursday.

The reigning GAC/MIAA Goalkeeper of the Week, Declan Viljoen was once again excellent in goal as he record four saves on the night.

The two teams mirrored each other in shots as both got off 13 shots and six shots on goal. The Hillcats pushed the offensive pressure in the opening half as they out shot FHSU 8-4. In the final 45 minutes of regulation, it was the Tigers who pushed the attack, out shooting RSU 7-4. The two sides split three shots in the two overtime periods as FHSU shot twice compared to the Hillcats lone attack.

RSU will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 23 as they remain in Kansas with a trip to Wichita to face off against Newman. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
