CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State women's basketball (2-1) looked dominant in the home opener as they cruised to a 101-32 victory over Bacone (1-10) on Thursday.
This game marked the first time the Hillcats scored at least 100 points since scoring 107 against Randall in November of 2019. It also marked the first time RSU won by at least 50 points since that same game when they won by 66 points.
In total, four Hillcats finished in double figures. Kylee Day led the squad with 15 points, four rebounds and two steals. Katrina Christian posted 14 points with two rebounds, an assist and a steal. Bailey Kliewer was just two rebounds shy of a double-double with 13 points and eight rebounds. Julie Luna logged 12 points with two rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal. Kloe Bowin contributed a team-high 10 rebounds with eight points, an assist and a block.
RSU controlled the game from the start as they went on a 24-2 run to open the half, and took a 26-3 lead into the second quarter. In that quarter, they took their largest lead of the half at 55-9 going into the break. This was the first time the Hillcats scored at least 50 points in a half since scoring 51 points at Missouri Southern on Dec. 5, 2020.
The second half was more of the same with RSU holding a 76-24 advantage going into the final 10 minutes. They eventually took the win with a score of 101-32.
The Hillcats will be back in action at the Claremore Expo Center on Saturday, Nov. 20 as they face off against Southern Arkansas. Tipoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
