CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State men's basketball (4-0) rolled to a 101-67 victory over Barclay (1-7) on Saturday.
This game marked the first time the Hillcats scored at least 100 points since they put up 105 against then-No. 11 Missouri Southern on Feb. 1, 2020.
Every Hillcat who played score on the night, with five finishing in double figures. Devin Pullum led the squad with a season-high 23 points as well as four assists, three rebounds and a steal. Joey Sarraco finished just shy of his second-straight double-double with 17 points and a team-high nine rebounds to go with three assists, a block and a steal. Ugo Obineke posted 15 points with four rebounds, four assists and a steal. Both Tylan Dean and Josh Price finished with 11 points, with Dean adding five rebounds, five steals and four assists and Price adding three rebounds and two assists. Jared Pearre contributed a team-high four blocks with seven points and seven rebounds.
The 27 total assists marked the first time RSU had at least 20 assists sice logging 29 against Bacone on Dec. 16, 2019.
The Hillcats stumbled a little out of the gate as they were down 8-5 in the first three minutes, but quickly found their footing running off a 9-3 run to take the lead 16-11 with 11:28 left in the half. They followed that up with a 14-0 run to push out to 30-11 in the span of just three and half minutes. RSU took a 52-29 advantage into the break.
The Bears attempted to fight back in the beginning of the second half and got the deficit down to 56-37. However, the Hillcats asserted their will and continued to string together lengthy point runs, and eventually rolled to a 110-67 victory.
RSU will be back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 23 as they travel down the road to Oral Roberts for the final exhibition game of the season. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
