PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Rogers State track & field teams competed at the 13th Annual David Suenram Gorilla Classic on Sunday at Pittsburg State's Carnie Smith Stadium.
 
Highlights

• Nick Williams led the way for the Hillcats on Sunday, winning the 3,000-meter Steeplechase by just under 20 seconds. Williams finished with a time of 9:47.82, with second place coming in at 10:07.75.
• Kory Wilson nearly pulled off another victory for the Hillcats, as he took second overall in the 5,000-meter run. Wilson ran an outdoor personal best as he crossed the line with a 15:26.32, just 2.31 seconds off the winning time. Tyler Melton also ran to a top-five finish, as he crossed the line with a 15:38.94 in fifth.
• Brianna DeAngelis had the top finish for the women's team, running fourth overall in the 5,000-meter run. DeAngelis crossed the line with a time of 18:50.78, passing two more Hillcats, Elena Fries and Ashley Riggenbach, who took fifth and sixth overall with times of 18:52.27 and 18:56.60, respectively.
