EMPORIA, Kan. – The Rogers State track & field teams set four school records and claimed a podium sweep at the Emporia State Midwest Classic on Saturday at Welch Stadium.
 
Highlights

• Brianna DeAngelis and Nick Williams started the day off with school records in the 10,000-meter run. DeAngelis took second overall in the women's event with a time of 38:45.45, breaking the previous record of 40:18.12 held by Christi Dougherty by over 92 seconds.
• Williams took third overall in the men's 10,000, running a 31:28.80 to break the old school record of 31:48.06 held by Seth Whittington by nearly 20 seconds.
• Gloria Butts picked up the only victory on the day for the Hillcats, but led a 1-2-3 sweep for Rogers State in the 5,000-meter run. Butts led the event with a 18:47.12. Sara Crosley took second overall with Elizabeth Ostermaier running third.
• Hannah Anello, Ashley Riggenbach, Brya Nyberg, and Tayler Lee teamed up to run a school record in the 4x800-meter relay, breaking the previous school record by over 82 seconds. The group ran a 9:57.63 to break the 10-minute barrier and finished third overall.
• Preston Turner, Julius Oheim, Jon Biersdorfer, and Carlos Vallejo also established a record in the 4x800-meter relay on the men's side with a second-place finish, running an 8:12.44.
