CLAREMORE, Okla. – The Rogers State baseball team took game one of the three-game series with Central Oklahoma by defeating the Bronchos 3-1 on Friday at the Diamond Sports Complex.

How It Happened
- After two scoreless innings, Rogers State got the scoring started in the third inning with a sacrifice fly from Brandon Bradshaw sent Victor Ceniceros in from third for the first run of the game.
- Later in the third inning, a two RBI single from Jerry Davis would send around Prescott Horn and Brooks Betcher for the second and third runs of the game.
- The Bronchos would score their lone run in the game in the top of the fifth inning, as Zach Freeman scored an unearned run off of a fielding error from the Hillcats.
- Rogers State would threaten with the bases loaded in the seventh, but were unable to plate any more insurance runs.
- Jordan Ewig would relieve start Brett Karalius with one out in the eighth and Ewig recorded four strikeouts to complete a five-out save.
Game Notes
- Ceniceros finished the day going 2-for-4 from the plate with a run scored.
- Mason Harvey also finished the game going 2-for-4 from the plate.
- Davis led the Hillcats with two RBIs
- Horn was perfect at the plate on the day, going 1-for-1 with three walks.
- Karalius picked up his fifth win of the season, as he had four strikeouts and allowed only one unearned run in 7.1 innings of work.
- Ewig picked up his fourth save of the season, as he struck out four of the five batters that he faced in his inning and two-thirds on the mound.

Rogers State will wrap up their regular season home schedule on Saturday as they will play the Central Oklahoma Bronchos in a doubleheader finale at the Diamond Sports Complex. The Hillcats will also hold senior day for the class of 2021 on Saturday. Senior day festivities will begin prior to the doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
