Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Team Effort Propels Hillcats To Rout Of Lincoln

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State men's basketball (11-6, 5-6 MIAA) took care of business after a wobbly start on Thursday as they rolled to a 72-51 win over Lincoln (1-11, 0-7 MIAA).

Three Hillcats finished in double figures on the night. Both Brewster Peacock and Jordan Coblin led the team with 13 points apiece, with each adding two rebounds, an assist and a steal. Tylan Dean finished with 10 points, six rebounds, four steals, three blocks and an assist. Joey Saracco cleaned up a team-high nine rebounds with six points and a steal.

The first half was a sloppy as it gets with neither team able to shoot better than 35 percent from the floor. In the first 20 minutes, the Hillcats gave up eight of their 11 total turnovers. However, they managed to take a slim 26-23 lead into the locker room.

The second half saw a completely different story as RSU came out with a fire. They made nine-straight shots to open the period en route to a 41-28 lead four and half minutes in. While they naturally cooled off, the Hillcats still shot 64 percent from the field (16-25) in the second half and 60 percent from beyond the arch (6-10). They outscored the Blue Tigers 46-28 in the final 20 minutes.

RSU will be back in action at the Claremore Expo Center on Saturday, Jan. 22 as they face off against Central Missouri. Tipoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
