Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Seven Different Hillcats Score In Win Over Ouachita Baptist

CLAREMORE, Okla. – No. 25 Rogers State men's soccer (7-3-5, 5-1-3 GAC/MIAA) rolled to a 7-0 rout of Ouachita Baptist (1-11-4, 1-7-2 GAC/MIAA) on Thursday afternoon. This is the most goals in a single game in the NCAA Division II era for RSU.

Seven different Hillcats found their way on to the score sheet in the win. George Robinson, Hugo Martin, Matthew O'Reilly and Erik Hjertsson all posted their second goals of the season while Luke Morgan and Trindon Turner logged their third goals of the campaign. Marcos Vasallo joined Josh Milla as the lead goal scorers on the team with his fourth of the season. Both Declan Viljoen and Rodrigo Silva saw little action in goal as they faced one shot between the two of them.

RSU was in control of the game from the opening kickoff with a relentless offensive attack and oppressive defensive pressure out of the gate. The Hillcats wasted no time getting on the board as George Robinson found the back of the net in the third minute off a cross from D'Waylan McIntosh and a header from Grant King. In the period, RSU outshot the Tigers 13-1 with three shots on goal as they carried the 1-0 lead into the break.

In the final 45 minutes, the Hillcats poured on the offense. In the 50th minute, Luke Morgan found the back of the net to go up 2-0. In the 62nd minute, Hugo Martin fired a shot in past the goalkeeper off a pass from Morgan. Thirty seconds later, Trindon Turner scored off a free kick from Matthew O'Reilly. O'Reilly then drove in a screamer from 25 yards out in the 68th minute to go up 5-0. In the 76th minute, Marcos Vasallo found the back of the net. Erik Hjertsson capped off the game in the 82nd minute to close out the 7-0 victory.

The Hillcats will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 22 as they welcome Harding to Soldier Field for the home regular season finale. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
