HAYS, Kan. – Rogers State women's basketball (2-6, 0-2 MIAA) fell 84-42 to Fort Hays State (6-3, 2-0 MIAA) on Saturday.

Mariana Minotto led the Hillcats with nine points and seven rebounds with two steals and an assist.
Bailey Kliewer added eight points with three rebounds, two blocks and an assist.
Kaya Goldsby contributed eight points with three rebounds, two steals and an assist.

The game was close in the opening minutes as the Hillcats were able to tie the Tigers twice within the first two minutes. However, FHSU began to pull away with a 9-2 run to go up 10-4. After a jumper from Kliewer to cut the deficit to 10-6, the Tigers finished the quarter on an 8-4 run to take an 18-10 lead into the final 10 minutes of the half.

FHSU took their first double-digit lead of the game as opened the second quarter on a 6-2 run to push out to 24-12. They eventually carried a 42-20 lead into the break after closing out the quarter on a 13-4 run.

The Tigers continued to roll in the second half as they outscored RSU 22-13 in the third quarter. They eventually sealed the 84-42 win by outscoring the Hillcats 20-9 in the fourth quarter.

RSU will be back in action on Thursday, Dec. 8 as they return to the Claremore Expo Center for the MIAA home opener against Emporia State. Tip off is set for 5:30 p.m.
