MARYVILLE, Mo. – Rogers State men's and women's track and field wrapped up competition at the 2022 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday.
In the women's mile, Katie Byrd finished sixth and set a new school record time of 5:00.66, taking down her own record of 5:02.32 set earlier this season. Tori Wood finished 12th with a new personal best time of 5:11.73. Riley Coleman finished 21st with a new personal best time of 5:21.30.Â
In the women's 3,000 meter, Katie Byrd finished 11th and with a new school record time of 10:18.34, besting the previous record of 10:21.42 set earlier this season by Brianna DeAngelis. Byrd has now set the school record in four of the five indoor long distance events this season. DeAngelis finished 14th with a time of 10:22. 41. Madison Bradshaw finished 16th with a new personal best time of 10:26.12. Gloria Butts finished 17th with a new personal best time of 10:32.14. Tori Wood finished 20th with a personal best time of 10:32.22.
In the men's mile, Carlos Vallejo finished 16th with a school record time of 4:21.59, edging out the previous best time of 4:21.69 set earlier this season by Jackson Stinnett. Kory Wilson finished 20th with a new personal best time of 4:23.38.Â
In the men's 3,000 meter, Jackson Stinnett finished 16th with a time of 8:36.49. Julius Oheim finished 18th with a new personal best time of 8:39.59. Kyle Ginn finished 25th with a time of 8:52.29. Caden Goss finished 27th with a time of 9:00.73.
The Hillcats will be back in action on Friday, March 11 as they open the outdoor season in Conway, Ark. competing in the Hendrix Invitational at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium.
